We are almost ready for the next book sale! In sorting we have noticed that the quality of the items in this sale is amazing. There are a lot of great mystery, thriller and romance titles in the fiction mix. These areas really stood out while preparing for this event. As usual it is a wide eclectic mix of titles both fiction and nonfiction. We look forward to seeing you there. Please help spread the word and help us find good homes for all of these great items.

On this day back in. . . 

1910   Thomas Edison demonstrates the first "talking" pictures–using a phonograph–in his New Jersey      laboratory.

AND

1955    The "Guinness Book of World Records" compiled by Norris and Ross McWhirter is published for the first time. The book was originally owned by the Guinness Brewery, hence the name. It is currently owned by the Jim Pattison Group, which the same company who owns Ripley Entertainment , Inc. The book itself holds a world record, as the best-selling copyrighted book series of all time.

 

Update on Upcoming Book Sale

We are working hard in preparing for the next book sale! The dates have been set for September 6th through the 9th. It will be held at our regular venue,  Golden Antiques in Summerfield. Day Three of the Book Sale

Hello to all!!  It's day 3 of our book sale and things are going well.  Many thanks to all of those who came by and for checking us out.  We appreciate all of our customers - THANKS - Because without you, none of this would be possible.  Remember, tomorrow is the final day of the sale and prices will be even lower.  The prices will range from .75 and under.  There's a lot of great books left.  So, come on out ...tell all your friends and find that perfect beach read just waiting for you.  Also, as a reminder, 10% of  the proceeds will be going to Animal Rescue and Foster Program (ARFP).  Get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside knowing that you'll be helping out our furry friends.  Thanks so much!!
